Join 11 year old Zubair on journey through time as he tries to mend his family in “The Night I borrowed time”.

Join acclaimed children’s author Iqbal Hussain for a powerful conversation about his novel The Night I Borrowed Time. Through an engaging discussion, Iqbal will explore the importance of representation and visibility in children’s literature, sharing why it matters for young readers to see themselves, their families, and their experiences reflected in the stories they read.

Drawing on themes from the book, the conversation will look at growing up in a British Pakistani family, navigating cultural identity, and the universal desire to feel in control when life is changing around us. With warmth, humour and insight, Iqbal will discuss family relationships, belonging, resilience, and how stories can help young people make sense of an unpredictable world.

Perfect for young readers, families, educators and anyone interested in diverse voices in children's literature, this event offers a unique opportunity to hear from an author whose work celebrates the richness of contemporary family life and the power of storytelling.

Parent/carers are required to remain on the premises and will require their own ticket.
