Living legend and internationale Avant Garde Performance-Artiste David Hoyle is coming to the Old Woollen, teaming up with our local high energy dance troupe Glitterbomb Dancers for one night only.
A 70s variety show, a drag night, a pop concert, an art lesson and a political rant all rolled into one FABULOUS night of camp surprises!
David Hoyle is a distinguished British actor, performance artist, and comedian, renowned for his provocative and avant-garde work. Born on September 19, 1962, in Blackpool, England, Hoyle gained fame as the alter ego "The Divine David" in the late 1990s, blending dark humor with sharp social commentary. His performances challenge societal norms and champion LGBTQ+ rights. After briefly retiring "The Divine David," Hoyle continued to create powerful solo shows and collaborate on various artistic projects. He remains a celebrated figure in the UK’s alternative performance scene, known for his fearless exploration of identity and politics.
Glitterbomb Dancers are a cabaret dance troupe, making short, spectacular dance numbers, prancing their way around Yorkshire and the North. They combine high quality dance with pop, spandex and camp energy and have reviously supported drag stars such as Cheryl Hole, Jinxx Monsoon, Baga Chipz and The Vivienne. Created and Produced by Joseph Mercier and co-directed by Joseph Mercier, Imogen Reeve and Matthew Robinson.
