Join Balbir Singh Dance Company for three glittering days of dance and Indian culture at Victoria Gate, outside John Lewis in Leeds.

Across the weekend, enjoy live solos, duets and ensemble performances; watch the dancers prepare and transform their characters through make-up; discover saris and Indian textiles; and experience Shringara, the Indian tradition of adornment and beautification associated with love, grace and celebration. Wedding preparations will lead into a bridal procession around Victoria Gate.

There will also be food and spice-inspired performance and activity, with South Indian treats from Uyare Restaurant; a yoga-inspired movement session for all abilities; and Creative Retail Therapy, following an imagined Indian prince and princess on a shopping spree through Victoria Gate. Throughout each day, a roving photographer will invite visitors to help record the event and pick up photography tips along the way.

The event is free, open and welcoming. Drop in at any point from 12pm–4pm on Friday 28, Saturday 29 or Sunday 30 August to watch, take part and say hello.
