Workshop

Step into a slow, tactile photographic process with artist Jie Wang and watch plants, light and chemistry collaborate!

This hands-on workshop introduces cyanolumen — a cameraless photographic process that combines cyanotype chemistry with traditional photographic paper.

Working with botanical materials, light exposure and simple additives, participants will create one-of-a-kind prints that capture trace, chance and time. The session is gently structured but encourages curiosity and experimentation, making it suitable for complete beginners as well as those curious about alternative photographic processes.

You’ll leave with finished works and a deeper understanding of how images can be formed without a camera.

This session is suitable for beginners and those over the age of 16 when accompanied by an adult.

This workshop is taking place as part of our Print Festival. Find out more > https://www.sunnybankmills.co.uk/arts/print-festival-2026
