Evening classes at Yorkshire Dance.
About Community Roller Dance:
Roller Dance is a type of roller skating that has been around for decades. Community Roller Dance Sessions are a friendly, no-pressure space to learn the art of roller dance together. We cater for beginners and more advanced skaters. You must be able to stand still on skates, go forward and stop safely. We will learn basic steps from Downtown, Zero, Strut Walk, to learning routines as a group.
We vary between learning skate skills for roller dance, routines and dances. This term we will alternate between structured Taught Lesson and a Skill Share Session. The taught lessons are more structured, whilst the skill share sessions are more free, but there is still a coach available for questions:
Taught lessons: 13 & 20 Jan, 3, 10 & 24 Feb, 3 and 17 & 24 March
Skill share sessions: 27 Jan (Crazy legs), 10 March (Moving round the rink)
Half term: 17 Feb
What to Wear
Whatever you feel comfortable in, protective clothing and your own skates. You MUST wear jamplugs or toestops. Inline and quad skates welcome. No skate hire available.
Please note evening classes held at Yorkshire Dance are led by independent dance artists. Please contact the tutor directly if you have a query.
