Christmas on the Farm

Leeds Museums & Galleries

Explore our unique take on a Christmas tree trail and seasonal displays that bring our historic buildings to life. Discover Christmas trees with a difference, in the Blacksmith's, Play Barn, Farm Office, Dovecote, 1940s Flat, Joiner’s Shop, Harness Room, Saw Mill and Engine Room, each telling a story about the building and its past.

Families can follow our Christmas trail, looking closely at each tree and display to solve festive clues along the way. Pick up a trail booklet from the Play Barn and see how many you can find!

In the Great Barn, discover our Christmouse Village and Christmas tree, inspired by the stories that will feature in our weekly storytelling sessions in the Play Barn. There’ll also be a charming Living Nativity in the Stables, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Little ones can get creative with free, self-led Christmas crafts in the Joiner’s Shop, available as a drop-in activity. Free with farm admission. There will also be bookable children’s table-decoration workshops, perfect for creating a special centrepiece to take home.

Find out about the stories behind our tree trail with a guided festive tree tour, followed by a warming mince pie and hot chocolate in the Play Barn.

With Christmas trees, traditional buildings, crafts, stories and festive treats around every corner, it’s the perfect way to celebrate the season together.

Trail and self-led crafts are free with general admission. Additional charges apply for bookable tours and workshops, visit the Temple Newsam What's On page for more details.
