This Christmas, start the festive celebrations in time-honoured tradition with classic carols at the oldest church in Leeds city centre.
St John’s Church on New Briggate will open its doors to all for its annual carol service at 5.30pm on Sunday 22nd December.
This traditional service led by the clergy and choir of Leeds Minster will transport you back in time with much-loved Christmas carols and readings.
St John’s dates back to 1634, and is richly decorated with period features and ornate wooden carvings. This glorious building is usually closed to the public, but it will open up to provide the perfect setting for a historic Christmas service like no other.
The Choir of Leeds Minster will bring the church to life with favourite Christmas hymns for all to sing along.
Carollers are advised to wrap up warm to spend time in this historic building. Please also note that there are very limited toilet facilities at this venue. The service is suitable for all ages and everyone is welcome.
