In this three hour beginners’ workshop, you will explore watercolour techniques to create butterfly paintings that celebrate these enchanting and delicate creatures.
You will learn to mix, layer and blend colour, embracing the fluid medium of watercolour before experimenting by mixing your own colour chart. Throughout the workshop you will observe live demonstrations and follow illustrated process sheets, exploring a variety of brushes and strokes to create colour gradients within your work. We will also explore the use of fine liner pens to add intricate antennae, legs and wing veins to your butterflies. You’ll take home a series of paintings and illustrated handouts to practice your skills at home.
