Brian d'Souza's Auntie Flo project brings a rotating ensemble of international musicians to the Howard Assembly Room for a performance blending global traditions with contemporary electronic production. The live band features a diverse range of instrumentation, including vocals from Mexico and Kenya, guitar, keys, and percussion, alongside a Senegalese talking drum and d'Souza on synths and drum machines.

The group’s repertoire spans five acclaimed albums, from the award-winning Radio Highlife (2018) to 2024's In My Dreams (I’m a Bird and I’m Free), which includes the celebrated track Green City. This fusion of sounds has earned praise from the likes of The Guardian and Phonica Records for its ability to redefine world music for modern audiences.

Known for boundary-pushing live shows, Auntie Flo has performed on major stages such as Gilles Peterson’s We Out Here festival and London’s Jazz Cafe, as well as in more unconventional settings globally. The evening will also feature a support set from Moncaya.
