Artists' Publishing Practices – Then & Now
Visual Arts
Workshop

Join us for a panel discussion and Q&A, to round off the Words Worth Watching: The Writers' Room exhibition at the University of Leeds.

Artists' publishing platform COPY will host the discussion, asking how artists' publishing practices have changed in the past three decades.

Joanna Jowett and Charlotte Morgan (COPY) will be joined by Wild Pansy Press founders Simon Lewandowski and Chris Taylor alongside other local publishers, for a panel representing three decades of practices that encompass artists' publishing practices both on and off the page.

Topics for discussion include:

• Challenges facing artists (old and new) who wish to publish work
• Workarounds to funding, and the realities of 'publishing'
• The UK network and DIY nature of artists' publishing
• New and experimental approaches that artists are currently exploring/areas of crossover with other art forms
• If and how printed matter still matters in an increasingly digitised world

Places are limited so booking is essential. Please book your place by emailing lucyrosecunningham@gmail.com.
