This autumn, we're launching In & Around Henry Barran Centre : A collaboration between Lens Lab and East Leeds Project. This is a community photography open call. We want photos of the area around the Centre, taken by the people who know it best: you. Any camera works, a phone is plenty, and you don't need to call yourself a photographer.
There'll be a few free workshops over the coming months (a thermal camera photowalk, a portrait session, and salt printing in the garden), or you can just submit your own photos independently, whichever suits you. Dates of workshop will be organised with input from YOU - when are you available?
Come and find out more at the Community Day on Saturday 5 September, where Wes will have a little stall 12 to 4pm, where you can sign up and chat with him. Selected photos will go up in an exhibition and on project postcards this December.
This project is led by Lens Lab, Wes Foster's community photography practice, working with groups to help people explore and photograph the places they live, using everything from phone cameras to thermal imaging and old-fashioned printing processes.
Can't make it on the day? Submit anytime at http://tally.so/r/814gqY or drop a print in the postbox at Henry Barran Centre. Or get in touch at info@eastleedsproject.org
