Join AURA for a workshop of self-discovery transforming personal memories into artistic expression.
This interactive workshop invites self-reflection and discovery, tapping into personal experiences and memories before transforming these into creative expressions using movement, words and materials to break down and reimagine who we are.
AURA creates a safe, supportive space where you can choose to share your story, listen to others, or simply to reflect.
The workshop will also introduce exercises from performance art to explore transfeminism, focusing on the concepts of consciousness, healing and slow movement.
This workshop is designed for trans* people but is open to anyone curious about exploring identity and the fluid state of the body — no artistic experience needed!
Trans* is an umbrella term that refers to different identities within the gender identity spectrum that share one common denominator: a trans* person is not a cisgender man or woman.
Suitable for all levels of experience.
This is a Pay What You Can event as part of Collective Encounters, a two-day festival of dance for LGBTQ+ folx and their allies.
