Global Rehabilitation is a small Leeds-based charity which trains and supports rehabilitation doctors and other medical professionals in countries in the Global South, in particular Madagascar, mainly through the transfer of skills and knowledge.

Madagascar is a huge island nation off the east coast of Africa and has very poor health systems and health infrastructure and a small number of extremely dedicated medical professionals who work hard to improve the lives of patients living with disease and disabilities in very challenging conditions.

Through Global Rehabilitation, skilled rehabilitation professionals from the UK (doctors, physios, occupational therapists, speech therapists) volunteer to share their skills and experience in their own time.

We're very fortunate that Clare Muirreann Murphy is supporting Global Rehabilitation's work through an evening of "Wild Irish Tales" from Clare's native land on 11 October. Clare is a professional story teller, as well as being a teacher, public speaker, facilitator, salon curator and conversation starter. She was born into a family of performers and poets and tells all sorts of stories from ancient myths to modern quantum physics. She is also a generous friend and supporter of people from different backgrounds and countries.
