WaterLANDS - artist opportunity
A part-time artistic engagement residency has been funded to work with the restoration team and partners working at the Great North Bog site which spans large parts of northern England and their community.
As key partners in WaterLANDS, Yorkshire Integrated Catchment Solutions Programme (iCASP), at University of Leeds, will be taking part in the selection process.
A call has gone out for artists from any creative disciplines to apply to work at sites in the UK, Bulgaria, Estonia, Ireland, Italy and the Netherlands. Please help us to spread the word amongst art organisations and individuals within the region.
Professor Joseph Holden, director of iCASP, said: “This project offers creative artists a unique opportunity to work alongside researchers, practitioners and other stakeholders on an ambitious European wide environmental restoration project and to integrate a creative perspective and practice to the overall action.”
The artistic engagement residency will require the artist to reflect on the journey of their particular site, engage communities, increase awareness of the importance of restoration and help to create and share knowledge across the project and beyond.
