Threads Textile Festival 2024
We’ve been enthusiastic about textiles here at Sunny Bank Mills for over 180 years which is why our second Threads Textile Festival is taking place 10am-4pm, Friday 7th – Sunday 9th June 2024, and we can’t wait to welcome all you textile enthusiasts out there.
There’s going to be a fabulous market in our iconic 1912 Mill where you can buy haberdashery, yarn, fabric and finished goods by skilled artisans.
If you need a break then take a seat at our Craft Café and refresh before heading out and about – there’s so much more to see. There will be talks and workshops taking place in various locations around the Mills where you can listen to fascinating textile experts or learn new skills in the historic setting of Sunny Bank Mills.
Visit our Gallery’s current exhibition Tangled Up which considers how artists use textiles as a means of exploring personal and political narratives. You’ll also find our shop full of beautiful handmade products and gifts for the whole family.
There’s also another opportunity for tea and cake in our Gallery café with comfy chairs to relax in whilst you absorb the exhibition for a bit longer.
If you fancy a peek into the past then our nationally important Museum & Archive will be open with a special exhibition featuring artists and makers who have been part of our recent Weaving Voices speaker programme. You will be able to have a look around the Museum & Archive too.
Many of the Mill’s independent businesses will also be open right over our festive weekend, including the inspiring Scrap store, plus food and drink outlets – Amity, Botanic Request, Farsley Fire & Smoke, Grumpy’s, Mill Kitchen and Saint Jude.
So come along and spend the day with us in Farsley, the arts hub of West Leeds!
There’s free parking at the Mills.
