Leeds Opera Festival Returns This Summer
The Leeds Opera Festival is an annual celebration of rare and wonderful operas, taking place in venues right across the city.
From critically-acclaimed new productions, to pop-up tours, talks, workshops and exhibitions, the Festival has many avenues for audiences of all ages and interests to enjoy opera – with most events free to attend, and visiting venues in Holbeck, Headingley, Seacroft, and many more.
The 2023 Festival is themed around opera from Latin America, and includes two major new productions – the UK premiere of Frida (based on the life of Frida Kahlo), and the tango-opera Maria de Buenos Aires (with dancers from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance).
There’s also a ‘Pay What You Can’ concert programme, taster dance workshops, a family day at Interplay Theatre, pop-up performances, and more …
You can now book for our concert programme as part of this year's Festival:
Fri 8 Sep - Ahmed Dickinson (guitar), Seven Arts Leeds
Sat 9 Sep - Jose Luis Nieto (piano), Castle Grove Hall Leeds
Sun 10 Sep - Lorena Paz Nieto (voice) & Helen Glaisher-Hernandez (piano), HEART Leeds
