How would you choose to define ‘The Dash’ that separates the year you’re born from the year you die?

Come and experience Existence Theatre Group’s brand new, original, student-led performance, exploring themes of duality, necessity, legacy and fulfilment.

Set in Britain, ‘The Dash’ follows Edith, an obituarist who receives a mysterious unsigned and unpublished painting that holds a remarkable resemblance to her younger self.

Featuring a gallery of student and community produced artwork and a cast and crew of nine passionate BA Theatre and Performance students from the University of Leeds who have scripted and produced the show, ‘The Dash’ tackles the controversies surrounding social marginalisation and romantic relationships spanning from the 1940s to the 1970s.

As a cast, we have a multitude of performance experience ranging from performing in prestigious theatres across the UK, writing original musicals, national dance champion titles, assistant producing for society-based shows and an online Japanese theatre group and sound designing for professional theatre shows and upcoming Hollywood films.

Mentored by Artistic Director of Freedom Studios and BBTA nominated Director, Dermot Daly, Existence Theatre Group are combining naturalism, expressionism and movement, to create a must- see performance, relatable to all demographics interested in the contrast between a “life lived well and a life well lived”.

Running from Wednesday 29th - Friday 31st March in Stage@Leeds at 7:30pm, with an added matinee at 2:30 pm on 31st March, be prepared to immerse yourself in an exhibition of a life lived against the status quo at The Dash.
