See What's Out There (On Your Bike)
In 2012 we commissioned four illustrators to respond to our strapline ‘See What’s Out There’. Each of the artists (Rabbit Portal, Janis Goodman, Matt Ferres, Johanna Harma) interpreted the brief differently and the four resulting artworks included a magical lighthouse; a curious fox; a mad March hare; and a forest emerging from the city roof tops.
This year our illustration commission will invite four selected illustrators/designers to respond to ‘See What’s Out There (On Your Bike)’. The artwork will be used to produce print and digital materials in Spring 2014 that tell people about the Leeds Inspired website in the lead up to the Tour de France Grand Depart in July.
If you're a Leeds based illustrator/designer and would like to be considered for the commission please email jane@leedsinspired.co.uk with a link to your online portfolio of existing work. It’s not essential to send us examples of print, but if you do have print you’d like to share our address is Leeds Inspired, Leeds Town Hall, Leeds LS1 3AD.
Monday 13th January is the closing date to email us with your online portfolio.
The commissions will be decided by a panel including the Leeds Inspired team and art director Lee Goater. We’ll let the successful applicants know by email at the end of January 2014.
The fee for each commissioned illustrator is £550.
